EDITING THE NARRATIVE 2

is a class that teaches traditional narrative editing issues and techniques on a nonlinear digital editing platform. Using existing digitized footage from varying narrative contexts, you will edit projects of sufficient complexity for complete visual statements, placing emphasis on editing as further discovery of montage and structure. A wide variety of feature films will be screened. Towards the end of the semester, each editing student will work individually with an advanced director and create the offline edit of that director’s film.
